Gareth McCay

Bio

Gareth McCay was educated at Saint Columb’s College Derry before attending Queen’s University Belfast where he obtained a 2:1 (hons) LLB in Law with Politics. Gareth then completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2006 before joining 25 partner regional firm JMW Solicitors to complete a two year training contract.

Gareth qualified as a solicitor in 2008 and was admitted to the roll of solicitors in England and Wales and the roll of solicitors in Northern Ireland. Gareth returned home in September 2008 to take up a position as Associate Solicitor in the Employment department at one of Northern Ireland’s largest commercial law firms. Gareth then spent time in the firm’s Banking & Finance department. Gareth has advised some of Northern Ireland’s largest companies on various litigious matters and played a central role in establishing the new sports law department at the firm.

Gareth left his previous firm in August 2014 and set up McCay Solicitors in January 2015. Gareth acts on behalf of a wide variety of clients including individuals, SME’S and multi-nationals. Gareth has a mixed workload of employment matters, civil litigation and commercial litigation on behalf of individuals, SME’s and multi-nationals.
